Tomorrow marks Day 1 of 6 weeks that I will spend studying for part 1 of my M.D. license. The exam (USMLE-United States Medical Licensure Examination) is a 3 part exam that is required before practicing as a physician here in the U.S. The exam assesses ones ability to apply knowledge, concepts, and principles, and to determine fundamental patient-centered skills that are important in health and disease and that constitute the basis of safe and effective patient care. Examination committees composed of medical educators and clinicians from across the United States and its territories prepare the examination materials each year and is 8-9 hours long. So please keep me in your prayers as I study 12-16 hours/day and prepare for this exam.
