Hi Dr. Webb,
Thank you…. I shared this with my son to show him that he can be anything he wants to be… He was born with vaters syndrome and it has been a struggle… Because of all he has been through, he said he wants to be a doctor when he grows up.. After sharing your story with him and letting him know that you too are from shreveport, Louisiana, that motivated him even more…. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you… Congratulations
Dr. Webb I ran across your facebook page through my sister feed. I found it inspirational because I too am from Shreveport, but what makes my story unique is that I was a 14 year old mother who bore a son Kamari Moore. I graduated the top of my class in 1997 graduated from University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Graduated from Gambling with my master’s and currently working on my PhD in Urban Higher Education. My story that is the greatest ever is whole doing all thos my son graduated top of his class #5 fron Thurgood Marshall HS in Missouri City TX and he is in his third year at Howard University aspiring to be orthopedic surgery. So when I saw your story and your struggle it brought tears to my eyes. I would love for my son to have the opportunity to meet you and possible mentor him. Everyone needs guidance and I would love if you could contact me and we make arrangements or just emails back and forth. Im currently back in Shreveport being that this is my last year in my program.
I just wanted to say Great Job!!!! I am from Shreveport- Motown area I was blessed to have a dream or desire to want more!!!! Clearly Im not the doctor yet !!! Again great job!!!! If your schedule permit I would love for you to mentor my son.

Hi, Good Morning, I am so glad I stumbled upon your page! I am the Development Public Relations Director for The Salvation Army Shreveport Corps and also for the Boys and Girls Club on Greenwood Rd. I would like to see if you would be interested in coming to speak to our Career Launch program at the Boys and Girls Club. It’s comprised of high school students and it’s a job development program sponsored by Capital One. It would be a great opportunity for them to hear you share your story and to know that where they start it’s never indicative of where they will end. And to also encourage them to read by seeing that you have published a book about overcoming the odds I would love for you to have a book signing there. The Boys and Girls Club is a huge facility on Greenwood Road which most people in the community do not even know it’s there. During the summer months we have over 150 kids come seeking a place to go during the summer. If you would please respond to my message or give me a call.

Wow! After reading your query, I had to sit back and take it all in for a minute before reading it again. You said that your novel is based on your actual life? That is AMAZING. The query alone kind of took my breath away. What an inspiration a novel like this would be to its readers. Though, I can’t imagine that you won’t be successful. I know that I, personally, would love to read your book.
Best of luck,
