Considering Back Surgery?

Second Opinions Are Important In Spine Surgery

If you’ve been told that you need spine surgery, I would strongly suggest getting a second opinion. Finding out that you need spine surgery can be very daunting, and getting an expert second opinion can help put your mind at ease.

Dr. Webb is a firm believer in that “patients should be able to make informed decisions before any big operation and should be confident in the decision that they make.” He takes pride in educating and empowering patients to become active decision-makers in their spine care. To help ease patients’ uneasiness toward surgery, Dr. Webb will explain and break down your diagnosis along with the treatment plan in a way that you can understand. He will thoroughly go through your images studies in detail and explain what they mean.

Dr. Webb strongly believes in giving patients all their options and whether this is conservative treatment such as pain medications, steroid injections, physical therapy, activity modification or some more of surgical intervention, his goal is for you to leave our office well informed about all of your options. Dr. Webb typically prefers a more conservative approach, taking into account your goals and concerns.

“My approach to spine care is empathetic and informative. I see myself as an educator; navigating and empowering my patients to become active decision-makers in their spine care.”

“Most patients don’t require urgent or emergent surgery, making it an elective procedure.” This allows us time to make a more informed decision regarding your care.

Why should you choose Dr. Webb?

Dr. Antonio Webb is a leading expert in the field of spine surgery. He spent 8 years in the US Air Force as a medic and LVN (licensed vocational nurse), including a tour to Iraq as a combat medic in 2005. This gives him over 20+ years of medical experience, not only at the bedside as a nurse and medic but also now as a physician. He strongly believes the best physicians are those that have prior medical experience. Those physicians can relate because they’ve been at the bedside, alongside the patient and care takers.

Dr. Webb spent 14+ years of his life (4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 5 years of orthopedic surgery residency, and 1 year of spine surgery fellowship) dedicated to honing and perfecting his surgical craft. He takes pride in this and makes sure patients are not treated “just as a number.” He calls every patient the night before surgery to make sure they have all of their questions answered and calls them again once home after surgery to see how they are doing. It is this small act of kindness that patients enjoy the most. He believes in treating every patient like they are part of his family and wouldn’t recommend something to you that he wouldn’t recommend to a personal family member.
